What is a tactful way to broach the subject if someone has invited you for an interview and seems interested, but doesn&#39;t volunteer to pay for your trip?

At what point in the process does one begin to discuss compensation and how does one bring it up?

			<description><![CDATA[ Long Dong, There is no standard way to prepare for the in-service. My first year, one of our 3rd years told me to memorize Andrews and a histo text and that
would be fine. Ridiculous advice. Miami Review used to publish in-service questions every year. Alas, the last one published is now almost 7 years old. My
program had its own internal set of notes compiled by residents, based on in-service questions and ideas, but it got outdated after a while. Additionally, I
found the Stiefel board... ]]></description>
