I'm heading to work with a general derm group, and was wondering what a malpractice tail policy costs on the East Coast, for a Mohs surgeon. Does it depend on your number of years worked? The practice is paying my insurance premiums while I'm with them, but I'm responsible for the tail. Any estimates out there?

God I loves private practice - the money, the patients, the challenges.

But having worked in several settings, life sure is a lot easier doing crappy noncompliant handwritten (useless) notes in the usual derm pracitce fashion than diligent, compliant - and most brickishly - typed/dictated and electronically coded notes.
