I have some questions about post-residency dermatology job interviews: Who pays for the interview-related expenses (flight, hotel, rental car, spouse/partner, meals, etc)? What is a tactful way to broach the subject if someone has invited you for an interview and seems interested, but doesn't volunteer to pay for your trip? At what point in the process does one begin to discuss compensation and how does one bring it up? Thanks very much.

If they don't volunteer and you're interested, do you think it's a good idea to ask if you haven't been hired yet? Compensation usually comes up early in the process. You won't have to bring it up - they will. Just be sure you know what you're looking for and what you will and will not settle for. Good luck!
